Inscryption – No, But I started it

Neat! I’m glad that you’ve started playing. Like I mentioned before, I do have one large gripe with the game, but you don’t need to worry about it right now. Instead, I’d encourage you to just keep playing for the moment. On the off chance that you’re currently stuck for some reason, I encourage you to explore and search around a bit, and experiment. The game has a wide variety of mechanics, both the subtle and very unsubtle that will mean you will make progress even if your level of play/skill stays the same.

Also, Inscryption is a short game. My steam library shows me that it only took about 12 hours to beat the whole game. In the interest of fairness, I did look up two things, but one was an optional collectible and the other was a mechanic that was actually bugged out for me. So, yeah.

You can do it! Even if it’s hard.

Now it’s possible that you simply aren’t enjoying the game. Maybe you don’t like roguelites, card games, roguelite card games, or subversive/meta storytelling. If that’s the case, you can feel free put to the game down, and go do something else, and I appreciate the effort to step out of your comfort zone.

But if you DO like all those things, maybe you should keep playing, person who is being specifically and preemptively called out here.

Yes, you. You know who you are. It’s entirely possible you’re the only other person who ever reads this.
